On August 21, 2019, It's the first time Bang Sihyuk makes public that BigHit is planning to debut a new girlgroup through the Plus Global Auditions with Source Music.

2019

On September 4, 2019, BigHit finally shares an article talking about Bang Sihyuk x Min Heejin's upcoming group. Later, on the same day, they posted "THE GIRL 01" and "INVITATION" videos on Youtube, opened SNS for the auditions and shared a poster with the audition dates and locations.

September 9
2019

On September 9, 2019, the official Audition website is opened, along with a GIF archives page to show the audition's aesthetic. Both are currently unavailable, and two years after, the PGA website would link you to Bighit auditions.

December 16
2019

On December 16, 2019, a relatively big weibo account posted a rumor about the new girlgroup being introduced through a variety show on August, and the group having a large lineup, which then turned out to be fake. Until this moment, "PLUS" was the only rumored group name for the NGG.

February 4
2020

On February 4, 2020, the 2nd BH Community briefing happened. Seo Sungjin, SMU's CEO, was in charge of updating about what happened on the auditions. Summary:

• The members for the new girlgroup are already selected and they're practicing hard
• Around 50,000 girls auditioned for PG
• The result was a complete success

It is believed that the future members were chosen one year prior their debut.

CONTEXT:

After the briefing on Feb 4, both companies remained silent about the project and it wasn't mentioned/brought up until 6 months after. During these 6 months, a lot of source music trainees left the company, there were rumors about trainees being models for BT21, and Bighit JAPAN opened auditions that allowed females to participate. A rumor of the new girlgroup being named "HYBE" was created, since a lot of trademarks showed up. For 6 months, there was no mention of the girlgroup. After the August briefing (next page) a lot of new fanpages for PGNGG opened, and it became the fanname to address the new girlgroup.
PGNGG stands for Plus Global New Girlgroup, and it was initially created to include both Bighit and Source Music on the predebut name, however, in 2021, fans started calling them HYBENGG!

2020

On August 13, 2020, there's a Bighit Labels briefing. Bang Sihyuk talks about the new girlgroup for less than 1 minute & 30 seconds... Things that were said:
"You can be assured that it'll be a team full of unique charms, and a global girlgroup from diverse backgrounds and languages""It will be a new blockbuster girlgroup with producing by myself accompanied by BigHit's team, CBO Min Heejin's creative directing and Soumu's own color and girlgroup know-how"
After this, Bang Sihyuk and/or Seo Sungjin never mentioned the GG again, but that didn't stop all the amount of people that kept increasing, showing interest and support for the new girlgroup.

CONTEXT 2 (final):

After the 2020 2H Briefing, once again, the girlgroup was never mentioned again by them. Someone at their 2021 1H conference call mentioned that the new GG was coming but that's all they said, and it wasn't Bang Sihyuk, Seo Sungjin or Min Heejin.

As 2020 was ending, more information about SOUMU trainees leaving the company was revealed. By this time, fans knew about 1 only possible trainee: Kim Minji.

On November 14, 2020, fans were freaking out when they found out that the PLUS AUDITION playlist had been edited, meaning BHL were checking it, but nothing was said from their part.

On July 9, 2021, almost one entire year after the latest information, BTS released a new MV for their "Permission to Dance" comeback, and 2 girls were seen next to Trainee A's Leo (BH JPN BG)

These two girls got +120k views on Pann, +50k at Theqoo and overall got a lot of people interested despite having so little screentime! Only time would reveal if they're actual members, but fans want to see them soon <3
